Reflecting on 2023

I want to start by saying that I don’t normally do this but I wanted to put a few things down as I reflect on this year. As I write this I am clean and sober for 16 and half months and what I have achieved this year I am so grateful for . I have travelled to two countries for work, starting 2023 in Washington DC and I am ending it in Dubai. I have challenged myself and taking myself out of my comfort zone so many times this year and grown so much as a result

Just some of the amazing things I have done in 2023 - I travelled to Miami to watch ‘The Heat’ Basketball team play. Then a trip to Hamburg  with the Burnt Chef Project as part of my role as Chef Ambassador as well as recording podcasts to help others. The Abu Dhabi Gran Prix was ticked off the bucket list along with travelling to New York to dine at 11 Madison Park. These are just be few of the things that I have experienced and I truly believe that these experiences could only be achieved as I grow in my recovery. I have invested in myself and my wellbeing this year, and the result I am so much stronger mentally!

2023 has brought me more than I could ever of imagined with my recovery. It has been a full year of being clean and sober. I have kept going one day at a time, putting one foot in front of the other. For those that have supported me and not judged - thank you so much.

What will 2024 bring? I have no idea, but what I do know is that I will use the foundations built from 2023 to make me so much stronger. I’m so excited to welcome in 2024 and smash it. 2023 has proven to me that with hard work and sheer bloody mindedness and the belief that you can go anywhere, do anything and over come it. For the fact I have had a second chance I will continue to take it with both hands.
